Planning Your First Visit

Are you thinking about joining us this Sunday? We would love to have you! Our desire is that from the moment you arrive, you would feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for.

We know visiting a church for the first time can bring up a lot of questions, so we’ve answered some of the ones we hear most often.

What kind of people make up Northside?

Northside is made up of people from many different backgrounds, ages, and walks of life who are seeking to know and love God, grow together in Christ, and serve others locally, regionally, and around the world.

Some who attend Northside are just beginning to explore Christianity, while others have followed Christ for many years. Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here. We are a church family made up of people who are growing together and seeking to follow Jesus.

What if I’m not used to going to church?

You’ve already taken the first step by learning more about us, and we’re glad you’re here.

At Northside, we want to be a place where you can ask questions, learn about God, and discover what it means to follow Jesus. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come. None of us have it all together—we are all people who need the grace of God and are continuing to grow in our relationship with Him.

What should I wear?

Come as you are! We are much more interested in getting to know you than what you are wearing.

When you visit Northside, you’ll see a variety of styles. We don’t make dress a big deal—we simply want you to feel welcome and at home.

What will the worship service be like?

At Northside, we believe worship doesn’t require a production—it requires hearts that are focused on God. Our services are simple, meaningful, and centered on Jesus Christ.

Each week, we gather to sing, pray, and hear a message from the Bible. Our goal is to make the truth of Scripture clear, practical, and applicable without changing or watering down its message.

Our services typically last about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We spend time singing together, sharing announcements, and listening to a Bible message that usually lasts around 50 minutes. We close with a song of reflection and response.

What about my kids?

Northside is a family-friendly church, and we believe children are a gift from God who should be taught about Him in a safe, caring, and engaging environment.

We offer Children’s Church classes for ages 5-12 during our 10am worship service and nursery for ages 0-4 years old for all services.

If you are visiting for the first time, simply ask one of our greeters when you arrive, and they will be happy to help you find the right place for your family.

Can I invite my friends?

Absolutely! We would love for you to invite others to join you.

Whether someone is curious about Christianity, searching for a church family, or simply looking for a place to belong, we want Northside to be a welcoming place where people can hear the hope of Jesus and experience the love of His people.
