What kind of people make up Northside?

Northside is a diverse group of people seeking to know and love God, grow together in Christ-likeness, and serve others locally, regionally, and globally. Practically speaking, that means that some are just learning about Christianity for the first time, while others have been in church their whole lives. Northside members span all different ethnicities, ages and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome.

What if I’m not use to going to church?

You have taken the right first step—thanks for looking at our site. We want Northside to be a place where you can learn, apply and wrestle with who God is and what He wants for you. It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out yet. In fact, at Northside, none of us claim to have it all together.  The exciting thing is that we serve a God who is gracious and understanding!

What should I wear?

We are more interested in you than we are in what you are wearing. When you come to Northside you will see some people in ties and others in jeans. Most people wear a business casual. Some women will wear dresses or skirts while others come in pants. We don't make dress a big deal and want you to feel welcomed and comfortable without worrying about meeting a certain dress standard.

What will the worship service be like?

Northside is a place where we keep it simple. It’s relaxed but focused. We don’t need to put on big productions for people to meet God. We believe that Jesus is enough. No matter where or when you attend, we follow a basic pattern of meeting together that can be traced back to the early Church. We teach from the Bible, we pray, and we sing. The goal is to love God and know him better by making the Bible’s truth accessible without watering it down. Our services usualy last about 1hr 10min. We have about 25 minute of singing and announcements, a practical and helpful message from the bible which typically lasts about 45 min and then we wrap things up with a song of reflection.

What about my kids?

Northside is a family-friendly environment. We believe that children are a blessing from God and should be taught about God in a fun learning environment. Northside has an active children’s ministry with Sunday School classes for all ages, a nursery ministry for all services and children's church during our morning worship services for children who are ages 4-12. Simply ask one of the ushers when you come in and they will point you in the right direction!
